Animated Music Video + Motion Design
For this project, I combined hand-drawn animation with motion design elements in After Effects. Ben Liebsch of the band You, Me, and Everyone We Know gave me full creative freedom, allowing me to explore my vision. I started with sketches and storyboards to develop the concept, and after approval, I moved forward with the project—bringing together my knowledge of motion design and hand-drawn animation using Procreate. This project was a valuable opportunity to deepen my understanding of the process and intricacies of frame-by-frame animation.

Project Notes
Storyboarding typically plays a key role in my process, starting with my initial pitch. I create a smaller, less detailed storyboard to present an idea to the client. Along with thumbnail sketches that outline each step of the video, I include brief text descriptions to help explain the visuals.
Once the pitch is approved, I move on to creating a more detailed storyboard, which lays the groundwork for each scene. During this process, I also refine transitions, address design elements that require more time, and identify ideas that seemed cool in my head but don’t translate well when sketched out.
Another key asset developed during the storyboarding phase is the character design. I typically finalize characters and their designs as part of this process, as it’s difficult to animate anything without completing them first.
Here are a few examples of my concept art alongside the finished designs.
